{crossroads quilt}

i am a fan of symmetry. and white sashing. and, of all pre-cuts i love layer cakes the most (aside from fat quarters...but sometimes they're just out of question, you know?).
so i was thrilled to learn, that the quilt which tacha (hanies) brought to our guild meeting was to be a free moda bakeshop tutorial!
in person it's even more gorgeous...

 even better, the fat quarterly page has a .pdf of this tutorial on their homepage to download (along with the other tutorials published on the fat quarterly blog.

{camera strap cover }

don't you think that those camera straps provided by the manufacturers are plain ugly and boring? (well, except if you're sooo proud to have a nikon/canon/whatever...then you might want to display the brand's name prominently :) )
one of the many camera strap cover tutorials on the web you can find at little big girl studio:
vanessa also adds a clever lens cap pocket!
